Congratulations to Mrs. Seward’s students for receiving their industry recognized ServSafe Food Handler and ServSafe Food Allergen Certifications! (FACS, Food Safety and Nutrition, & Life and Fitness and Nutrition classes)

Special guests, Wendy Pettz and Ms. Doris Eoff of the Arkansas Cattlewomen’s Association, Fayetteville, gave presentations on the benefits of beef in Mrs. Seward’s FACS, Food Safety & Nutrition, and Life and Fitness Nutrition classes. Ms. Wendy demonstrated grilling steaks along with the different cuts and grades of steaks. Students enjoyed tasting select, choice, and prime steaks in each of the food classes. She also gave a presentation to the Child Growth and Development class on Nutrition during Prenatal development and infancy. What a great experience! We are thankful!

Election/Millage Information
Every public school district in Arkansas is required by Arkansas law to put the district’s millage rate on the ballot once per calendar year, even if a change in the millage rate is not being requested. The White County School District holds its annual election in November, and therefore, the required annual millage question appeared on the November 5, 2024 ballot. The District was not asking for a change to the millage rate. If voters approved the millage question on the ballot, then the millage rate does not change, as no change was requested. If voters rejected the millage question, then the last millage rate that was approved will be in effect, which again, is the same as the current rate.
